SINULID ng Pag-asa
Support, Intervention, Nurturing, Upskilling, Livelihood, Integration and Development
Livelihood readiness, upskilling and reintegration preparation for incarcerated mothers, so release is a beginning rather than another shock.
Sinulid is the Filipino word for thread, the thing that holds a family together and the thing a mother works with. The programme treats a detained mother not as a problem to be managed around but as the person most able to change her children’s outcome, given the means.
SINULID delivers skills training and livelihood preparation inside the facility, savings and enterprise guidance, and structured planning for the months immediately after release, the window in which most reintegration attempts fail for want of income, documents or a place to live.
What the programme delivers
- Skills training and upskilling inside partner facilities
- Livelihood starter support and enterprise guidance
- Pre-release planning and post-release follow-through
- Family-strengthening sessions that keep the mother in her children’s lives
